Internal Data Structures

[MIR GRAPH SMALL]

Select

Description

This example is generated and shows the internal data structures of a C compiler. The C compiler has an interface to the VCG tool and controls it as external program. Even changes of the data structures during the processing of the C compiler can be animated in this way.

Such data structure networks are usually very large. In the normal overview (10 KB) the graph is still too much demagnified. Select here (27 KB) to see a magnified part of the data structures. The different fisheye modes are useful to see the overview and the details at the same time. Select here (41 KB) to see the graph in polar fisheye view, and here (29 KB) to see the graph in cartesian fisheye view. Further methods to explore the graph interactively include operations to search nodes and to follow chains of edges.
